THE BOOKS & PENS PROJECT
With a focus on SDG 4 Quality Education and in a bid to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all regardless of their socio-economic background or circumstances.
SDG Watch Africa rolled out ‘The Books&Pens Project which seeks to address the perpetual lack of access to educational/learning resources amongst less privileged children in rural nursery and primary schools and in IDP Camps (internally displaced persons) located in Abuja through a rather different approach that bridges the donation gap between the less privileged and the society and at the same time creates awareness by encouraging public donation of new or fairly used school/learning materials(notebooks, textbooks, pencils, school shoes, school bags etc) through a convenient doorstep pickup service hereby ensuring community participation, collective responsibility, sustainability and great increase in student performance as a result of addressing the lack of essential learning materials.
